ADEVICE designed particularly for cleaning the front, roof and rear of a bus forms the subject of patent No. 877,016. (R. Edgley Cox, 68 Highgate Road, Walsall, Staffs.)

As shown in the drawing, a powered rotary brush (1) is carried on a pair of swinging arms (2). A winch (3) varies the height of the brush while a feeler

roller _(4) controls the supply of washing liquid. The' latter is sprayed from a pipe (5).

. In use, the vehicle is slowly driven forward while the washing 'brush works its way upwards and along the roof. The rear end can also be covered by the descending brush as the vehicle passes through. A separate reversed framework, working simultaneously, is preferred for this duty.
