A short list has been drawn up for the general managership of Rochdale Transport Department, following the appointment of Mr. Ronald Cox as general manager of the Bournemouth undertaking. It is expected that an appointment will be made next Tuesday. The list is:. Mr. F. S. Brimelow, general manager and clerk to the Stalybridge, Hyde. Mossley and Dukinfield Transport and Electricity Board; Mr. H. J. Hooley, general manager and engineer, Chester; Mr. F. A. Moffatt, traffic superintendent, Liverpool; Mr. T. P. O'Donnell, general manager and engineer, Ashton-underLyne; and Mr. J. P. Procter, deputy general manager, Rochdale. Mr. F. Baker has been appointed principal executive assistant to London Transport's Public Relations Officer.

Mr. A. E. C. Drake has been appointed a deputy chairman of B.P. with effect from January 1. He succeeds Sir Harold Snow who is retiring from the positions of deputy chairman and managing director. . Sir Harold will continue to be a director.

Sir Walter Worboys has been appointed chairman of the independent committee which is to make, for the Ministry of Transport, a review of road signs in Britain. Sir Walter, former chairman of the Council of Industrial Design, has been chairman of British Thermoplastic and Rubber Industries since 1960.

Mr. N. Akroyd, advertising and publicity manager of Commer Cars, Ltd., and Karrier Motors, Ltd., Luton, is to retire at the end of this month. He has been associated with the commercial vehicle industry since 1912 when, as an apprentice, he joined the old Huddersfield company of Clayton and Co., Ltd., then manufacturers of Karrier commercial vehicles. The Commer/Karrier advertising and publicity department is to be amalgamated with that of sales promotion and will be headed by Mr, G. W. Tate. Mr. H.
