• The Tachograph Analysis Association holds its next meeting at 10:00hrs on 5 September at the Chimney House Hotel in Sandbach, Cheshire.
Guest speakers from Parcelforce will cover "What is required from tachograph analysis?'" The meeting is free and open to non-members. Contact 051-708 0123.
Top drivers gear up
• The national final of the Shell Lorry Driver of the Year competition takes place at MOTEC, Telford on 15 September. Roads and Traffic Minister Christopher Chope and the FTA's director-general Garry Turvey will present prizes to the best of 300 finalists demonstrating driving skills and knowledge of the Highway Code.

Keep it clean
• Transport and the environment comes under the microscope at the International Conference on the Automotive Industry and the Environment, to be held on 6 and 7 November at the SAS Royal Hotel in Brussels, organised by the Institute for International Research.
The conference topics include alternative fuels and recycling materials used in vehicle production.
