DRIVERS FOR subcontractors to Buxton Lime Industries, part of the Tarmac Group, have been competing to be named BLI's driver of the year.
The one-day competition covered off-road driving, safety procedures and a written test. The winner was Martin Leafe of Buxton-based Lomas Distribu tion, who bagged a prize of £1,(XX).
Runner-up David Parkins of RDL Distribution's Buxton depot took home £500, just pipping Tim Marshall of Lomas Distribution who picked up £250.
The prizes were presented by BLI logistics manager Andrew Smith and commercial director Phil Richards.
