Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

POLICE ARE investigating the circumstances surrounding the administration of Cheltenham haulier Berlin (Project) Limited (BPL).

The company, based on the town's Kingsditch trading estate, had administrators appointed on 13 September (CM 21 September). But two days later all its assets were bought and it is continuing to trade from the same site under an almost identical name.

The police will not comment on the precise nature of their investigation.

Former MD Steve White has stayed on after the assets were bought. He has a 41% stake in the new company, with VA Logistics owning the rest. White says it will now be known as Berlin Project Logistics Ltd.

He adds: The past couple of months have been a pain in the arse, although we think we have got through it and can see light at the end of the tunnel."

White says the new company hopes to pay as many of the old company's debts as possible: "We are aiming to pay all our subcontractors."

The firm specialises in transporting exhibition equipment and racing cars; it has won business awards.
