Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Time to switch off our phones Mobile phones are the devil's work, we're convinced of it. What with their infernal, ubiquitous presence and 1,000 varieties of tinny, screeching novelty ring tones they can only have been sent from the dark lord.

What's more, research points to them being a health hazard as well. No, we're not talking about potentially fatal increases in blood pressure caused by having to listen to people yakking inanely in public places, but their use behind the wheel. Hand-held phones are already banned from being used whilst driving, and there's increasing pressure for hands-free phones to share the same fate, given that research indicates they impair driving as much as being drunk.

What also grates is that they are so intrusive there are few places in the country where you can't be contacted at any time of the day, unless you turn the phone off of course. Perhaps, though, it's become an addiction for us all and, just like cigarettes, maybe it's time we all tried to give them up for a day. Go on, I could give up any time I wanted.

Well, just one last call. Maybe next week then.
