Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TOTTON, HANTS-BASED Edson Distribution could be squaring up for a court appearance with its former pallet network, Pall-Ex, over a dispute about postcode coverage.

Both companies are tight lipped about the details of their disagreement as lawyers attempt to thrash out a settlement. But it is serious enough to have soured their seven-year working relationship.

It is believed Edson lost out from the takeover of Andover firm Switch Transport by long-standing Pall-Ex member TWT Logistics earlier this year, and Switch's subsequent transfer into Pall-Ex.

Edson Distribution is involved in pallet distribution for the Southampton,Salisbury,Andover and Shaftsbury areas, as well as hauling containers out of Southampton port. It joined the TPN pallet network in August after its fall-out with Pall-Ex.

MD Nigel Edmonds says he hopes the situation will be resolved soon: "We are still in legal discussions with [Pall-Ex] at the moment.

"We are just trying to come to an agreement, but that's not forthcoming currently. I want it sorted and put to bed, but Pall-Ex is not being very co-operative.

Pall-Ex will only say: -Following ongoing discussions it was decided by the Pall-Ex board of directors to terminate the business relationship between the two companies in June 2006 for commercial reasons."
