Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LINCOLNSHIRE INTERNATIONAL operator Denby Transport has turned in a satisfactory set of annual results, despite strong competition that wiped flm from its turnover.

MD Peter Denby says in spite of rising diesel prices the company performed consistently for the year ending 30April 2006. He adds that the English export market is busier than it has been for years.

The company recorded pre-tax profits of £141,000, down £5,000 on 2005's results. However, profitability rose slightly operating profit was £201,000, compared with £194,000 the year before.

Den by says: "Under the circumstances of steadily rising diesel prices during the year, the result is satisfactory. They are not results I'm proud of, neither are they ones I am ashamed of." He realises the company's international work makes it more susceptible to increased competition.

But he adds: "As we speak it's a very interesting market — there's a soaring demand for English exports. It's one of the busiest periods I have known for years. I'm used to hearing about English exports declining, but the British fleets' decline has stabilised of late.

"The last couple of statistics I have read indicate percentage is sticking around 25% and doesn't appear lobe dropping."
