Fast and continuous solderless bare wire-strapping is claimed possible by Gardner-Denver with its 14TA1 pneumatically operated strapping tool. Principal features of the tool include an adjustable wrapping speed, piston-actuated drive for quiet operation, 360deg adjustable non-reversing index and 20-to 30-gauge wire capacity.

The 3ft Bin. reach boom raises to a maximum height of 7ft 9in. It runs on ballbearing rear castors and two 4in. diameter cast iron wheels.

Two smaller models operate on a similar principle and have maximum lift capacities of 8.5cwt, maximum safe lifting capacity 5cwt.

It consists of a rail-mounted travelling gantry with rotating brushes mounted on arms adjusting automatically to vehicle width.

Multiple jets spray water/ detergent shampoo over the vehicle on the first pass, a clear water rinse on the return.

For vehicles of irregular shape the brushes may be held back and only the spray jets used.

A 16ft-long vehicle takes approximately two minutes to clean and total cleaning cost is said to work out at abou1 lp per vehicle.
