Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The number of football fans using Merseyside park 'n' ride soccer bus services to Anfield and Goodison Park has more than doubled so far this season compared with the same period last year. The special buses serve all Saturday first-team home matches and leave the Gillmoss and Edge Lane depots in Liverpool and the Old Hall Road, depot, Bromborough depot, 45 and 30 minutes before kick off.

Return fares on the soccer bus are 25p for adults and 15p for children from the Liverpool departure points.

Said an MPTE spokesman: "We believe this service, which started during the 1971/72 season, to be the first of its kind in Britain. Fans are becoming increasingly aware of the advantages of parking their cars at some convenient points and travelling by bus directly to the ground."

Up to 400 passengers are now using the service for home games, which can mean up to 200 fewer cars trying to park near the football ground.
