of the Borough Transport Committee since 1946, has been elected vice-president of the Municipal Passenger Transport Association. For over seven years he has served on the Association's National Executive and for 16 years he has represented Chesterfield on the Yorkshire Area Council.
Mr. R. H. Adams has been appointed transport manager at the Lysaght Steelworks, Scunthorpe. In 1950 he went to Chesterfield to join the Sheepbridge Company and since 1953 he has been transport and wagon shop manager at Staveley.
Mr. E. A. Murphy, director of research for the Dunlop Group, is to retire at the end of this month. He is succeeded by Mr. E. W. Madge, research manager, who has worked closely with Mr. Murphy for many years.
The Potteries Motor Traction Co., Ltd., announce that Mr. Ronald C. L. Jones has been appointed architect of the company in succession to Mr. W. E Gott, who, as previously announced, retired on December 31, 1961, after 47 years' service with the Potteries Company. Mr. G. E. Brown has been appointed branch manager at Carmo, Ltd., Bedford and Vauxhall main dealers, Leighton Road, Kentish Town, N.W.5.
Mr. J. Winstanley has been appointed general manager of Motores Perkins S.A., Sao Paulo, the Perkins Group's overseas subsidiary. He was formerly the Group's general overseas manufacturing manager and is succeeded in this position by Mr. B. C. Bell. Dr. Ella De Filippis has been appointed general manager of Perkins S.p.A., of Como, the Group's Italian company, succeeding Mr. Leslie Roberts, who has returned to the U.K. to take up a senior post with Perkins at Peterborough.
Mr. C. P. Dallemagne has taken over as London area manager of Total Oil Products (Great Britain), Ltd., from Mr. John S. Perry. Mr. Perry has taken up the new appointment of Midlands area manager, with headquarters at Coventry.
Mr. A. E. Curtis, formerly sales promotion manager with Barking Garage and Engineering Co., Ltd., has now relinquished this position and has joined Holmes (Preston), Ltd., as senior sales representative for London and the Home Counties.
Mr. J. Raymond and Mr. C. S. Smith have been appointed to the board of directors of Hills (Patents), Ltd.
