7HE Western Licensing Authority, Mr. L S. W. Nelson, last week refused an yplication by Mr. V. C. Cook, of ewbridge, for a B licence to carry farm -oduce to and from Liverpool, Nottingtm, Kidderminster, Cardiff and Bristol. he B.T.C. and D. Row and Sons, Ltd., ere objectors.

The applicant informed the leensing Authority that his company [rried 99% of Turner Asbestos goods to C,ornwall and South Devon.

This application was also opposed by ritish Railways, for the same reason as the previous application, because a nv express service would shortly be in yeration and would be available for the )ods concerned.

Saying that he wanted to assist British ailways to hold the traffic and to see Yvv the new service will work, the icensing Authority refused the applicam for two vehicles but granted the Idition of one 5-ton 15-cwt. vehicle to itchens Garage, Ltd.

A third applicat:on, by D. Row and ms, Ltd., also entailed the addition of co vehicles to an existing A licence, :cause of an increase in carryings. Mr. S. W. Nelson was unable to grant two vehicles but allowed the applicants to transfer one vehicle from a contract licence of J. Baragwaneth, Ltd., of Birmingham, on the undertaking that another contract would not be taken out. .British Railways once again opposed on the same grounds.
