WHEN The Commercial Motor IT closed for press, a special Order restricting car-rental schemes was expected to be made by the Board of' Trade. It was thought that rental schemes for commercial vehicles might not be affected.
As long ago as October, 1952, The Commercial Motor exclusively reported that two large fleet operators had entered into hiring _agreements with a leading finance house. In each case, the capital value of the vehicles was about £60,000.
