A'" CONTAINER HAULIER Maritime Transport is looking to increase its presence in the Hams Hall area of Birmingham after applying for authorisation to base 20 vehicles and the same number of trailers at a new operating centre in Whitacre Heath, Coleshill.

The facility is close to the firm's main Midlands site at the Hams Hall Railfreight Terminal in Edison Road.

Earlier this year, Maritime relocated its Birmingham operations to Edison Road following a two-year period at the Containerbase facility in Pen y Barr.

The Edison Road site operated by ABP Connect, a division of Associated British Ports — is fully enclosed with fencing and electronic, gated access In addition, the depot has 24-hour security on site and parking spaces for up to 30 vehicles.

Maritime says the Hams Hall area is "extremely well positioned" with good access to the ML M6, M42 and M69 motorways.
