• inancial institutions to be encouraged to suspend payments on debt and to restore credit.
• I solvency rules to be changed to allow r uction in company size rather than just liquidation.
• The use of existing legislation to protect the tree movement of goods and services within the European Union. • Skilled labour to be given the option of 'inactive' status rather than just being laid off.
• Reinvestment in road infrastructure and incentives for clean modern vehicle investment.
IRU vice-president Pere Pedrosa says: Tanks have received assistance because they are seen as vital to the economy. But if road transport ceased to exist, trade would come to a halt."
