• LDV will market rebadged Nissan Vanethe Cargos from July. The Birmingham-based van maker will take 3,000 a year and sell them alongside its existing product range. Nissan says the move makes use of spare capacity in its Barcelona factory as it is no longer building Ford Mavericks there.
• Mercedes is offering a 100hp turbo-diesel variant of its Vito panel van from December this year. Twin rear doors will be available from August with windows and wipers. These will be a no-cost option although money can be saved by specifying no windows.
• The IRTE recorded 8,000 visitors at its show in Telford this month—an increase of more than 6% on last year's figures. The figure excludes attendance inside the halls.
• MAN is supplying 42 chassis to the Royal Mail. The new trucks, a mixture of 7.5, 32.5 and 38-tonners, are replacements and additions to the current fleet. The first stage of the delivery consists of 27 L2000 8.163Fs with Marshall bodywork and Ray Smith and Ratcliff tail-lifts.
