• The adoption of a two-year programme of work with regard to general transport policy will be considered by the Council of Ministers of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) at their meeting in Madrid on June 16-17.
Other topics on the lengthy agenda will include: measures to be recommended with regard to speed limits outside built-up areas; adoption of a single document embracing road traffic rules and road signs and signals; infrastructure costs; activities of the European Economic Community in the field of common transport policy.
The ECMT comprises the Ministers of 18 European countries.
