Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Under the Drivers' Hours (Passenger and Goods Vehicles) (Modifications) Order 1971, which comes into effect tomorrow (Saturday), drivers engaged in quarrying work, cinematography and radio or television broadcasting work are allowed some minor concessions.

Drivers engaged in quarrying work will no longer have to record the time spent driving off the road on quarry sites when compiling the total hours' driving time. Drivers in the latter categories, whose driving is confined to vehicles up to 34 tons gross (plated), or up to 30cwt unladen (unplated) will be exempted from the daily and weekly limits' of duty and the requirements to have rest periods.
