• Twenty-three Munro Transport drivers have been charged with hours, tachograph and record keeping offences following the joint police and Vehicle Inspectorate raid on Munro's Skelmersdale depot last October (CM 26 Oct-1 Nov 1995).
The raid, which resulted in the confiscation of tachograph records, was made after a Sunday newspaper ran a story based on a taped meeting between a Munro director and seven drivers.
The drivers will appear before magistrates in Ormskirk, Lanes to answer charges brought by the Vehicle Inspectorate: the first 11 cases will be heard on 12 April.
The charges concern alleged hours and records offences committed between 26 August and 12 October 1995.
