• Sheffield Cleansing Department has taken delivery of four Iveco Ford EuroTrakkers, the first to be fitted with 'LP' Ecomat automatic transmission.
The MP340E34H 8x4 rigid chassis are fitted with Multilift demountable bodies and sheeting systems, compatible with Sheffield's existing skip bodies. They will be used to collect trade waste and to take incinerator residue to landfill sites, involving both on and off-road work.
The ZF 5HP 600 transmission is a five-speed torque-converter unit rated at up to 1,600Nmthe six-speed 6HP version is used in Leyland's and Foden's military 8x8 DROPS vehicles. Peak torque of the 340hp (254kW) Iveco engine is 1,069Ibft (1,450Nm) at 1,200rpm.
