• The first British vehicle washer to use wave pattern brushers — a system that gives a better wash. That's the claim of Smith Bros & Webb for its Britannia SBW 315 three-brush moving gantry unit.
It is being marketed with the enlarged minibus market very much in mind, but is suitable for a mixed fleet including heavy goods vehicles.
Whereas traditional side brushes have limited swing, the new Britannia's brushes
are controlled by pneumatic rodless cylinders enabling each brush to move independently and lap over the centreline to give full cover front and back.
Since the machine is modular constructed, it is available in 3.5m, 4m and 4.5m heights, with retrofit. It is claimed to be 30% more efficient in use of water than the old-fashioned design.
