is It is with regret we record the death of former RHA national chairman James Barrie.
The Glasgow-based operator, became managing director of his family firm John Barrie in 1940. Under his control, the company grew to one of the largest road transport fleets in Scotland, specialising in import and export movements through the port.of Leith.
Barrie was also a former chairman of the Scottish section of the Institute of Transport.
Our sympathies go to his son, Bruce, and the rest of his family.
