• Overnight delivery company Elan International has won a major distribution contract with Amstrad Distribution, which is part of the electronics giant Amstrad. The deal is believed to be worth around 2500,000.

Elan will deliver Amstrad's complete range of audio, video and computer products to over 3,000 retail outlets throughout the UK, with daily pickups from the company's premises at Newcastle-Under-Lyme in Staffordshire.

Elan will have a 12m trailer, stationed at Amstrad's Newcastle site, which will be loaded throughout the day and trunked down to Elan's Birmingham hub.
