Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

CLA1MED to be the narrowest mechanical wheelbarrow made, and to have exceptional tractive characteristics because the drive is transmitted to the fPont pair of wheels, which bear the greater part of the weight,-the Benford petrol-engined wheelbarrow is being sold by William R. Selwood, Ltd., Chandler's Ford, Southampton.

It has three wheels, two on a leading axle and one castormounted at the rear. Power is supplied by a Villiers Mark 12 unit with an output of 1.5 ' b.h.p. at 2,800 r.p.m. It is started by pulling a strap. A flywheel magneto is incorporated in the design.

The single-speed drive is transmitted to the leading wheels through an engine pulley and a driven pulley. These are connected by a belt made of nylonspliced chrome leather, and the tension is controlled by 'a handle operated by the driver. ' When this handle is released, the belt is slackened and the drive disconnected.

Ease of manceuvrability is obtained by virtue of the short wheelbase, the narrow track, the castor action of the rear steering wheel and the free-wheel movernont fitted to the driving wheels to permit differential action when cornering. There is a Bowden-cable brake On the castor wheel and a hand parking brake on the two leading driving wheels.

The two types of body offered—a tipping skip and a tipping platform— are readily interchangeable.

Dimensions of the machine are as follows: Length, 5 ft. 3 ins.; width, 2 ft. 71 ins.; height, 3 ft.; wheelbase, 2 ft. 6-1 ins. The appliance has already found uses with many companies.
