MR. A. R. SMITH has succeeded MR. A. McEwust as representative in Berkshire and South Oxfordshire for the India Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. Mr. McEwen has taken up a technical appointment at the company's factory. MR. P A. W. GODDARD has been appointed representative in the Cambridge and Bedford area, and MR. J. R.
representative for Salop.
Ma. A. K. Rio-maps, M.I.C.E., is to succeed MR. T. G. NEWCOMILN, M.I.C.E., M.INcr.T.. as Ministry of Transport road engineer in the eastern' division. In the south-eastern division. MR. H. S. KEEP,. MC., B.Sc.(ENci.), M.I.C.E., A.C.G.I., will succeed MR. J. ROWLAND HILL, M.I.C.E., STRUCT.E., and in the north-western division MR. J. S. McNEll.„ B.Sc., A.M.LC.E., will replace MR. A. H. Dom, 0.B.E., B.ENG., A.M.I.C.E.
MR. T. E. HUTTON, A.M.I.C.E., is to become an assistant chief engineer at Ministry headquarters. A30 MR. W. C. SHELTON, senior sales and technical representative of the Hoyt Metal Co. of Great Britain, Ltd., has retired.
MR. R. T. By FORD, A.C.I.S., has been appOinted secretary of the Tyre Manufacturers' Conference, and secretary of the Tyre Trade Joint Committee, in succession to the late MR. W. B. STOKES.
MR. J. R. F. BRADFORD was last week re-elected chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Area of the Road Haulage Association. The vice-chairmen are MR. D. 0. GOOD, MR. P. NOSES and MR. W. J. DucKmm.
MR. A. E. M. WALTER, chief of the Ministry of Transport's international inland transport branch, is a member of a party comprising officials from II European countries visiting the U.S.A. to study the working of the Interstate Commerce Commission. A European Transport Office similar in function to the I.C.C. may be set up.
MR. C. T. BRUNNER, M.Ites-r.T., has been elected next year's president of the Institute of Transport. He has been a vice-president since 1950. A director and general manager of Shell-Mex and B.P„ Ltd., Mr. Brunner is a member of the management committee of the British Road Federation, and of the grand council of the Federation of British Industries.
