The Sacmi backhoe from Colchester Tillage is designed to be attached to vehicles in the seven tonne and above class and is powered via a PTO and pump. Two models are available, both with a tear out force of 2,700kgs.
A sideshift facility allows the backhoe to be offset anywhere on the mainframe enabling trenches to be dug parallel to the truck. As well as slew, the hydraulic telescopic arm gives a reach of either 3.2m or 3.4m (depending on model) for the digging bucket.
