Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• BLACK CAT II, the distinctive Foden 6x4 tractive unit that was one of the stars of last month's CM Truckfest, has been stolen from its owner, Avonmouth den dealer Forden Commercials.

Last Thursday night thiew broke into Forden's compour and removed Black Cat!! ar another secondhand A-registered Foden 6x 4 tractive un Forden's sales director John Ormandy told CM that the y was secure and the two unitE were both locked.

Black Cat!! is Forden's demonstrator and is still unn gistered although the trade plates were inside the cab. II chassis number is 214 897.

With its all-black paintworl door mural of Clifton Suspen sion Bridge and stainless ste exhaust stack, Ormandy fear that the unit may be too distinctive for the thieves an that they will dismantle it to sell the parts.

These would include the (. terpillar 3406B-400 engine, cm aluminium wheels, Eator Fuller RT014613 gearbox, E minium fuel tank and Veeder Root two-man electronic tac graph. in all, the complete vehicle is valued at 245,000.

The other unit stolen was two-year-old 6x 4 Foden in I red and white colours of Knowles of Wimblington, wi the registration number A52 OFL and chassis number 21: 883. This was being sold by Forden Commercials and is valued at £20,000.

So far, Avon police have been unable to throw any lig on the theft. It follows a spa of reported thefts of Foden eight-wheel tippers in southern England.
