EQUAL PRESSURE • Hawldey, the Hampshirebased weighbridge manufactt ers, has developed a new, twin-tyre, pressure equalisin: system.

The Tyre Tamer is a stenmounted equaliser incorporat ing a cut-off valve and a pressure indicator capable of detecting pressure variations of as low as 0.2 Bar (3 psi). Both tyres are linked by a reinforced nylon connecting hose.

Hawkley claims its Tyre Tamer can increase tyre life on twin wheels by up to 309k as well as saving fuel. It also improves braking and road holding and reduces the risk heat build-up caused by unequal tyre pressures, which can lead to a blowout. The visual indicator also simplifies tyre checking.
