Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN increase of 8s. 9d. in the basic weekly wage of drivers and head loaders employed in the surface transport and goods handling section of civil air transport has been agreed; warehousemen will get 9s. 74d. a week more, and loaders 7s. 104-d., all the increases being backdated to May 26. This is among new agreements revealed in the July issue of T.G.W 11. Record.

Other increases negotiated include one with T. Wall and Sons (Ice Cream) Ltd., under which skilled fitters will get a rise of 17s. 6d. a week, semi-skilled fitters (Grade 1), 15s., and semi-skilled fitters (Grade 2), 12.s. 6d., all these applying from May 12.

Transport workers in the retail furnishing and allied trades, and the retail drapery and footwear trades will be affected by Wages Council agreements for overtime to be paid at a minimum rate of time and a half for all time worked in excess of 44 hours a week_ An overtime rate-of time and a half has also been agreed for all overtime during the normal working week by those employed in the retail food trades.

In the C.W.S. Bread and Confectionery

Division the agreement for supervisors has been amended in such a way that relief driver salesmenwho assist the supervisors will get an extra 10s. a week, this being retrospective to April 29.

T.R.T.A. Council Meets 'THERE is a crowded agenda for the 1 meeting on July 2 of the national council of the Traders Road Transport Association.

Among reports to be submitted are those from the newly established highways and vehicle committees and the membership and international committees.

One important topic will be the report of the survey committee, which is responsible, in the initial stages, for preparing the Association's evidence to be given to the projected licensing inquiry.
