THREE very big applications are listed L this week, two in the North Western Area and one in the West Midlands. Walker Bros. (Heysham) Ltd., of Morecambe, is seeking a new A licence for a total of 36 vehicles, including tippers: the company will surrender a current A licence for 18 vehicles if this application is granted. J. Buckley and Co. (Warrington) Ltd. is asking for 30 vehicles on A licence (with surrender of a licence in the name of R. Rankin and Sons Ltd., issued in the Northern Area) for general goods.
The big West Midland bid is by J. Hickman and Son (Brierley Hill) Ltd. for a B licence for 32 vehicles, to carry goods and materials for the motor and engineering industries. If granted Contract A and
C licences will be surrendered.
