• Up to 50 gas-powered Volvo FL1Os will go into service in a joint project between Volvo and the city authorities in Gothenburg and Malmo. The vehicles will have a range of around 300km and be used for refuse collection and other municipal applications.
• Eaton has launched the latest version of the 12speed TwinSplitter constantmesh gearbox. The TS/TS016112A is available with direct or overdrive top gear and a torque capacity of 1,6231bft (2,200Nm). First to offer the box will be Iveco in the 513hp (383kW) EuroStar 440E52.
• John Martin Construction has taken delivery of the first Volvo FH12 380 6x4 heavy haulage tractor. The Volvo will operate at up to 80 tonnes GCW to move large excavators and crawler cranes on a heavy duty low-loader. The vehicle has been supplied on contract hire from Ryder.
