Daikeith switches pallet networks

MIDLOTHIAN-BASED Dalkeith Transport SE Storage has left Palletways after a 10-year stint to join Palletforce.

Peter Wright, managing director of Dalkeith Transport, says he decided to look at other pallet networks last year before choosing whether or not to renew with Palletways.

Wright says: "We liked the idea of being in a member-owned network, and were impressed with the facilities Palletforce offered."

The move will expand Dalkeith's reach in Scotland. With Palletways, the haulier covered Edinburgh, Fife, Perth and some of western Scotland, but from 1 March, Dalkeith will cover Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow and Perth from its depots in Newtongrange, Midlothian and Cumbcrnauld, Lanarkshire.

Palletways says it will now manage the Scottish market directly from its Edinburgh hub.
