CM understands the Steeton VOSA test station in West Yorkshire will close on 31 March.
Labour MP Ann Cryer, along with local hauliers, had been fighting to save Steeton from closure. However, a letter sent to Cryer from Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport Paul Clark last week stated "VOSA will revoke ownership of the site on 31 March, whereupon it will be handed over to the Driving Standards Agency on 1 April."
VOSA will cease taking test bookings from 26 February, and Clark says the agency will write to all customers of the station advising of alternative testing provision.
