Search Impex to display model behaviour at CV Operator Show
DERBYSHIRE COMPANY Search Impex will have more than 100 trucks on display at April's CV Operator Show, easily the largest number that any stand will exhibit.
The catch is that Search Impex (stand 5702), set up 16 years ago, makes model trucks. Its main market is making the models for corporate promotional use, although there is a big collectors' market as well.
Jim Newsome, the firm's managing director, says: "We are in a niche market, hut we have always found the CV Show anticipate the CV Operator Show to be the same."
Although the recession has affected the firm, Newsome says the fall in sales is substantially less than the 42% suffered by the real truck market.
He adds: "I expect this year to be better. Orders are up and the collectors' market has stood up well."
