Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Iveco Ford EuroTech Cursor 8 tractive units. Grattan ran extensive trials of the Cursor-engined tractors for Iveco, double-shifting one to cover 270,000km averaging just over lOmpg, with a tandem-axle trailer and an all-up weight of between 24 and 26 tonnes.

• Ivaco will introduce a timing-gear PTO option on its EuroTech Cursor multi-wheelers from April which can provide up to 600Nm of torque at clutch engagement. The EuroTronic 1800 12speed box will also be offered from June.

• The big Mack E9 V-8 engine used by Renault in its 630hp Magnum looks doubtful for clearing Euro-3. Mack's E7 E-Tech in-line six is fast becoming Renault's main European heavy-truck engine and will eventually go up to 500hp. However, it's rumoured that Renault is also looking at Cummins' all-new, twin-overhead cam Euro-3capable 15-litre Signature.

• PSA Peugeot Citroen has signed a deal with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation to use its gasoline direct injection (GDI) technology which can reduce the fuel consumption of a petrol engine. The Japanese firm is also in talks with other manufacturers over GDI.

• DaimlerChrysler AG has announced a 17% increase in turnover in 1998 to DM45.8bn (216.4bn). Nearly 490,000 units were sold across the group's truck, van and bus ranges. In Europe, more than 90,000 units were sold-12% up on 1997—with revenues of DM12.6bn (£4.5bn). This keeps the group's European market share at around 23%.
