• Travelling on London's buses is becoming increasingly dangerous now that the Government has stopped revenue support to London Regional Transport, says the public transport pressure group CAPITAL. This decision, warns CAPITAL, will precipitate accidents on bus routes and further tragedies on the Underground.

"Revenue expenditure covers the basic running costs of operating the service including the wages of most staff. Cleaning and routine maintenance are bound to come under still more pressure. Passenger safety is bound to be hit," says CAPITAL's Jon Lansman.
