THE enormous financial cost" entailed in traffic-court hearings was mentioned by Mr. L. W. A. White before the East Midland Licensing Authority this week. Mr. White said that he would refrain from making a long speech because of the cost of producing the shorthand writer's transcript.
He was representing Barton transport, Ltd., who with Robin Hood Coaches, Ltd., wish to run a Nottingham-Liverpool service. The Trent Motor Traction Co.. Ltd., and the North Western Road Car Co., Lid_ want to do likewise and each pair of companies opposes the other, with British Railways opposing all four.
