Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

drivers win▪ 6.7%

• Thick drivers in the West Midlands will get a 6.7% pay rise from 1 April, following an agreement between the Road Haulage Association and the Transport and General Workers' Union.

But the negotiators have agreed that the deal will only cover companies which are "in a position to raise wages". Although talks have been going on since January, the increase will not be backdated and deals that have already been reached at individual films will not be affected. Overnight subsistence goes up from £14.80 to £16.40.

Exel Logistics meets the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union this week to continue pay talks.

The RMT has not put forward a specific claim but other settlements at NFC companies are bound to be influential — such as the 7.5% recommended to BRS drivers and workshop staff by the TGWU.
