CALLING ALL MANUFACTURERS • The RAC has developed an emergency system which enables drivers to contact it direct from their vehicles by depressing a button on a handset, similar to a cab phone.
The prototype costs about 21,000, but the RAC is hoping to get backing from a manufacturer to reduce the cost to less than £100.

TYRE TECH • Pirelli has expanded its FH15 tyre range to include all standard and low-profile 0.57m sizes. The range is designed for high-speed trunking operations and is said to offer good grip in the wet.
