Owen will be the guest speaker at the Wasteman '91 conference which takes place at Birmingham next month. No one could be better qualified to talk about waste, or at least wasted opportunities, than the SDP leader and former half of the acclaimed cabaret duo, The Two Davids.
Before pundits begin speculating on a new Green initiative by the good doctor, it should be pointed out that this is a different Dr Owen, a consultant for the firm Paribas.
He will be predicting that the value of waste management will more than double to £6.5bn by the year 2000.
Let's hope his predictions are more mould breaking than his political namesake's,
