Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AJACK attachment which enables one man easily and safely to remove or refit a spring on a chassis has been introduced by Larkin. Forge Ltd., Springfield Road, Chesham, Bucks. It can be supplied to fit almost any trolley jack and the price is £4 17s. 6d.

The attachment fits in place of the lift pad on the jack and consists of two parts. One is a platform with lugs on both sides, the other a stirrup notched at two levels to Mate with the lugs on the platform. in use, the unit is clamped over one end of the spring to be removed or fitted, the most convenient pair of notches being selected. Screw clamps at the top and side of the stirrup ensure that the spring is held rigidly.

The attachment will cater for springs up to 4.5 in. wide and maximum depth at the point of clamping is 9 in.

Compressor Added

rAA RECENT addition to the extensive range of air compressors made by B.E.N. Patents Ltd., High Wycombe, Bucks, is the RMV 10. This is a twincylinder, single-stage unit with a 3-h.p. electric motor and is mounted on a base plate welded to a 15-in. by 2-ft. 2-in, air receiver. The receiver is mounted vertically arid stands on three fabricated steel feet.

Running at 675 r.p,m., the compressor has a displacement of 10 ft3finin and a working pressure of 150 p.s.i. The unit can be arranged for either automatic or governor control and is supplied corn

plete with drain and take-off valve, pressure gauge, relief valve and suction filter.

Flashing Indicator

ANEW flashing indicator kit suitable for light commercial vehicles has been produced by Wipac Group Sales Ltd., London Road, Buckingham. The kit--S 3304—consists of four flush-fitting amber lamps, a flasher unit and an indicator switch incorporating a warning light. The kit retails at 1.2 15s.

Automatic Parking Light

EOLLOWING the success of its I Dipyt automatic headlight-dipping equipment introduced earlier this year, Television Installation Services, Nursery Street, Mansfield, Notts, has now produced an automatic parking light. This is similar in appearance to other equipment of the same kind—it clips on to the top of the windscreen and shows a red light to the rear and white light to the front—hut incorporates a cadmium sulphide cell.

The resistance of the cell varies with the illumination and this variation of resistance is used to switch the parking light on and off by means of an amplifier containing two transistors. The cell is on the underside of the parking light and is therefore not affected by street lighting or vehicle, headlights. Two yards of connecting wire are supplied with the light, which is suitable only for 12-V systems.

ECENT new publications .include catalogues on colour pastes for polyester resins, tyre service equipment, electric switches and indicator lamps and general vehicle equipment.

Llewellyn Ryland Ltd., Haden Street, Birmingham, 12, makes high-quality colour dispersions for the reinforcedplastics industry and in its new brochure describes its 1963 range of polyester colour pastes. This is a strong, well-produced book able to be subjected to constant use in a workshop and gives a complete list of colours available, with samples and prices.

The Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd. has recently brought out a new. Tyre Service Equipment catalogue which features the complete range of Dunlop equipment and can be obtained at any Dunlop depot.
