Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by the Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr. D. I. R. Muir, last week to substitute a different vehicle under an A licence which had been suspended after a witness had said his company could employ the vehicle for three or four days a week.

The haulier, F. G. Roberts and Son Ltd., of Chalklands, Bourne End, had been called before the Authority as the licence had been suspended because the vehicle had not been used. The company now wanted a different lorry put on the licence in substitution.

Mr. Derek Freestone, representing A. Jackman Ltd., civil engineering contractors, of Slough, said the company had contracts all over the country and had great difficulty in getting the transport it needed. It Could employ this lorry and it would fill the company's need.

The company had a lorry of its own for some work, but when recently it was off the road and Jackman resorted to sub

contract hire there was considerable delay. He added that the work the

company would require from Roberts' lorry would be mainly in the South East and Midlands.

M. Muir said he was satisfied and would take no action in the matter. The application for a substitute vehicle would be granted.
