The F10, with its TD100 GA engine developing 1 92kW (257bhp), is considered more suitable where the full gross weight capability is used for only part of the time; for example, 38 tonnes one way and returning
empty.
Volvo is at pains to stress that this is not a criticism of the durability of the F10; the company merely feels that the F12 is a more suitable chassis for continuous operation at 38 tonnes.
