Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Registrations for CM's Fleet Management Conference have now reached 450. We can still accept more.

The programme has caught the imagination of a wide variety of transport people from all sectors of the industry, both at home and overseas. The conference fee, which includes registration, coffee, cocktails, lunch, the conference papers and a full delegates list is £45 and has been recognised by RTITB for grant.

The conference will be launched by the chairman, Sir Peter Masefield, who will have just relinquished his duties as head of London Transport. His introductory remarks will be followed by a speech from Bryan Rigby, a deputy director-general of the CBI.

With the conference officially opened, the real business of the day will start in a discussion on the merits or otherwise of lorry bans and restrictions by Hugh Featherstone and Richard Turner, director-general and controller (planning and traffic), respectively, of the Freight Transport Association.

Tachographs (tool or toy?) will be the next topic covered, this by R. D. Yeomans of Wincanton Transport. GrevilleJanner, QC, MP, will follow with an explanation of the import of the Employment Act.

After lunch we have our guest speaker, the Secretary of State for Transport David Howell.

His talk will be followed by Freddie Plaskett's views on the future of transport and the role of the RHA.

The rest of the afternoon will be devoted to a discussion on whether there is such a thing as an ideal vehicle. Peter Nevitt of Ford, R. Wilsdon of Cummins, K. Parmee of Eaton Transmission, Bill Johnson of Norde Suspension and Dr Jarrett of Lucas will be there to tell us the answer.
