rAA LARGE national concern has purchased the goodwill of the meattransport business of H. Tidd and Sons, 34 Scarborough Road, London, N.4. Tidd's A licence for 41 vehicles, but not the vehicles themselves, is to be t ransferred.

The vehicles are to be disposed of to the trade.

The firm have been meat hauliers for 87 years, serving Smithfield market. About a third of their fleet was engaged on long-distance work arid the remainder operated around London.

Mr. H. A. Tidd, sole proprietor, told The Commercial Motor on Tuesday that with the disuse of the transport depot he planned to extend the adjacent bodybuilding works by half. Construction of various types of body was undertaken there and he felt that the demand justified expansion.
