TRAILER CANTEEN FOR LONDON . BUSMEN

LONDON Transport has just put into service a new type of trailer canteen with the object of enabling London busmen to take their meals under improved conditions. The kitchen compartment is at the front of the vehicle, and on the near side there is a serving counter with a roof flap that can be raised, side wings, and folding curtains for protection in bad weather and in the black-out. Sink and drainage facilities are provided on the off side.

A special feature is the dining section at the rear, this being separated from • the kitchen by a partition with a door and hinged counter. This compartment has, on each side, three stools and a wide full-length shelf.

The new canteen will enable the Board's staff to have cooked meals under cover during bad weather. It has been specially designed in conjunction with the Westminster Carriage Co., Ltd., which built the vehicle.
