• Conoco's 211 drivers are voting whether to accept the company's revised plans that will cut its annual drivers' wage bill by around £900,000 instead of £1.2m as it originally planned (CM 21 April).
The Transport & General Workers Union, which is representing the drivers, says the revised offer will reduce its members' pay by up to 18%, instead of the original 20% proposal.
If the drivers reject the package, they face the risk of their work being contracted out, says the TGWU.
The company wants to keep the work in-house but says drivers must accept a reduction in premium rates for what the union claims is a token increase in basic pay.
