Waste developments
• The 1994 Institute of Waste Management conference is to be held on 1317 June in Torbay at the Festival Theatre and the Palace Hotel. The conference will cover innovations in disposal systems and waste collection and landfill taxes and recycling.

Hazgoods workshop
• A one day workshop on monitoring and control of hazardous goods transport in Europe is on 20 May at the hotel Adagio Vaugirard in Paris. The aim of the workshop is to improve safety of hazardous goods transport. The day is hosted by the Commission of the European Communities and Eutelsat.

IRTE conference
• The Institute of Road Transport Engineers conference is at Telford Conference centre on 12 and 13 May. IRTE 94 will include papers on vehicle and material development, efficiency and cost of operation and the rise of the engineering manager. Contact 071-589 3744.
Oldie gathering
• The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society's London and South-east division will hold an informal gathering of vehicles and members on Sunday 5 June at Channel Commercials, Brunswick Road, Cobbs Wood Estate, in Ashford, Kent.
