Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the Department of Transport announced certain minimum requirements for equipment at MoT testing stations — there are over 16,000 — and as a result Brockhouse Harvey Frost Oh 027953208) has brought out the HE Epco JB 1.5-tonne capacity jacking beam.

Says Alan Deakin, sales director of the Bishop's Stortford-based firm: "Our quick reaction to design a new beam to meet MoT regs has certainly given us an advantage — we have even improved our

initial design." Computer-aided design techniques were used to produce the best strength/ weight ratio incorporating the hydraulic pump and ram from the two-tonne model.

From January 1, 1987, any vehicle with a maximum permitted Laden gross weight of two tonnes or more can only be tested with 1.5-tonne jacking equipment, "The new regs are applicable to the maximum permitted weight when presented for testing," says Deakin. "Certain popular vehicles will now fall within this category, including Mazda, Talbot, Nissan, Bedford and Ford Transit."
