• Varta Batteries Ltd (tel 01965 7991), UK subsidiary of Europe's largest battery manufacturer with 50% of West Germany's original equipment market for commercial
vehicles and cars, has published new trade support literature.
Varta claims that it produces replacement batteries very shortly after the launch of new models, and on the commercial side has ones available for the Ford Cargo 2 truck range and Iveco models.
The number of diesel cars now operated has stimulated demand for specialist "cold crank optimised" batteries, and three new replacement batteries in the brochure cover diesel cars from BMW, Ford, Mercedes, Renault and Vauxhall-Opel.
The brochure includes a UK to DIN standard cross-reference table, superc(-;sion international battery cross-reference data and reverse application list giving battery codes and applications suitability for more efficient stock control.
